Lab Responsibilities

Each laboratory has its own unique set of hazards. Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification is a fundamental function for Principal Investigators in any laboratory. 

Chemical Hygiene

The Chemical Hygiene Program describes proper practices, procedures, equipment, and facilities that function together to help ensure individuals are protected from the effects of hazardous chemicals in their work area.

Biological Safety Program

The Biological Safety Program provides guidance for faculty, staff, and students who work with biological agents to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.  

Bloodborne Pathogens

Contact with human blood or other potentially infectious materials during job duties are covered under the Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control Program.
