The University of Pittsburgh’s Student Health Service and the Department of Environmental Health and Safety are working in collaboration with the Allegheny County Health Department to monitor the monkeypox case count locally and the potential impact on the region.

Pitt’s Student Health Service is able to provide monkeypox testing if the need is indicated.

As community members return to campus in preparation for the start of the academic year, the University will continue to provide information and resources to keep the community informed about risks and resources to mitigate monkeypox transmission.

Fact sheets with additional guidance for persons who may be sick with monkeypox, have symptoms that could be associated with monkeypox infection, and/or are waiting for test results are available from the Allegheny County Health Department and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
